Marsheaux “A Broken Frame”

Greek female synth duo covering one of Depeche Mode’s least loved albums. A recipe for electronic disaster – surely? Well, against all odds, it succeeds. It sounds fantastic with high production values throughout and we’re left wondering if we (secretly) prefer this version to the original. Covering a whole album rarely works, but with A Broken Frame, Marsheaux have cleverly refurnished a 30 year old so-so album. Amazing. 8/10
