Röyksopp “The Inevitable End”

Supposedly the Norwegian-ers final LP (in the traditional “album” sense – not that most youngsters know what that is these days), The Inevitable End is a deeply melancholic affair with guest vocalists popping in and out throughout. It’s largely brilliant (tempo variance, ahoy) with a full-on re-working of “Monument” and the pumping elegance of “Running to the Sea” of particular enjoyment. The end of the album (specifically the last two tracks) is maybe a slight letdown (which is kind of ironic), but Royksopp remain a class apart from most. 8/10
