Owen Pallett “In Conflict”

Merging strings and orchestral arrangements with an increasing use of electronics suits Pallett well. “In Control” takes time to reveal itself; its songs are complex and slightly off-centre. When it does start to bloom, the listener is treated to a deeply personal, gorgeous song cycle which had us spinning the album on repeat. Spellbinding. 9/10
