The Raveonettes “Pe’ahi”

It seems that every-other Raveonettes album is great, and so it proves here. 2012’s “Observator” was possibly their most cohesive and strongest set of songs yet. Maybe in reaction, Pe’ahi is Sune and Sharin in full Jesus and Mary Chain mode. Feedback aplenty, every track is drowned in white noise and distortion. Initially this excites, but quickly grates. It’s difficult to tell how good the songs are here, but over the 10 tracks this is tough going. 5/10
